Monday, Apr. 1, 2024

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! This night is Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power and Majesty. This post for the auspicious twenty third night of Holy Ramadan has five parts and knowledge of Significance of Laylat al-Qadr:

  1. Gems of knowledge from Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, or "Advices of Manliness" of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.);
  2. One beautiful verse composed from a ginan composed by Sayyad Khaan Moti Venti;
  3. Noore Karim, Yâ Ghafuur; Noore Karim, Yâ Ghaffâr; Noore Karim, Yâ Afuw and Noore Karim, Yâ Tawwâb dhikrs;
  4. Angelic salwat which is the anchor tasbi for the project and
  5. Global Prayers and Three Grand Aspirations.
  6.

    Significance of Laylat al-Qadr:

    Here is a concise description of Laylat al-Qadr:

    'Laylat al-Qadr: (lit. "night of power" or "destiny"). The night in the year 610 A.D. in which the Koran descended, in its entirety, into the soul of the Prophet. It is one of the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan. For this reason, the last ten nights of Ramadan are taken to be particularly holy. On that night, the Angel Gabriel first spoke to the Prophet, the Koran was revealed, and the Divine mission began.

    The Surah 97 describes the Night of Power as "better than a thousand months ...peace until the rising of the dawn." It is related the A'ishah, the Prophet's wife, explained that Laylat al-Qadr is the "soul of the Prophet". That is to say, since the Prophet is all of creation in the form of a man, the night corresponds to his soul. This also implies that the true nature of human soul is a receptacle of God's revelation.'
    (Source: The Concise Encyclopedia of Islam' by Cyril Glasse, HarperCollins pbk. ed., 1991) (p.243)

    Please note that the whole of the Holy Qur'an entered into the soul of the Holy Prophet (s.a.s.) on Laylat al-Qadr in year 610 A.D. The Holy Qur'an was revealed to the people over a period of 23 years, i.e. from the time when the Holy Prophet (s.a.s) was 40 years old till the age of 63 years when he passed away.

    Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.)
    In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us about the returning the soul to its origin through the physical, spiritual and luminous recognition of NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam:

    "Therefore, O, believers, the true believer is one who keeps his face turned away from disobedience, remaining obedient to the orders of the True King (Shah-i haqiqi). He progresses towards the truth, carrying out instructions of the pir, just as the pir himself carries out the orders of the Lord (Mawla). As just as the pir obeys the order of the Imam, never exceeding his orders, so must the teachers (mu'alliman) obey the orders of the pir, never transgressing them, until they attain their aim. The believers (mu'minan) must similarly obey the orders of their teachers, never transgressing them, and learning more from them to recognize (ma'rifat) the Imam, to obey the commandments of the religion and to carry them out, until they reach their goal.

    Therefore, accept wholeheartedly (ba-jan) whatever the spiritual guide (murshid) teaches you, when he gives his advice, religious instruction and admonition; this will bring you in truth and righteousness to the Truth (haqiqat) and to the recognition the Imam of the time (Imam-i hadir). You must be thankful for this, because it is valuable for the traveler on his road to have a guide, a candle and a light, so that he may ultimately reach his home safely and without suffering." (p.40)

    *At present, NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam is the Imam (Shah), Pir and Murshid Pir of the Shia Imami Ismaili Nizari Muslims.

    Part 2: Teaching of Sayyed Khaan
    In the following verse from the Ginan, Hu(n) re piyasi, Sayyed Khaan teaches us to remain focused on the Holy Imam by invoking His name with full concentration:

    Verse 7 recited by Shafiq Rawji

    Eji Didaari hove so esa chahaave
    Sahebji-ku(n) chhod kar orku(n) na dhiyaave
    Didaari hoy so dil baandhe
    Din din adka neh dhare
    Ek man ho kar naam leve
    Piyuka darshan so kare ji

    0 Lord, He who desires the vision should wish not
    to pay attention to anything other than the Master.
    He who would have the vision attaches his heart to Him,
    increasing his love day by day.
    Through invoking His name in singleness of mind,
    he achieves the vision of the Beloved.
