Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! This post for the auspicious seventeenth night of Holy Ramadan has five parts:
Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.)
In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us about the submission of dasond (mal-i wajibat):
"You should occupy yourself with matters and work with which God may be pleased and must not act against the commandments of God. From whatever you earn you must put aside a tithe, which is a religious duty (mal-i wajibad), and deliver it to the treasury of your Mawla who is 'Ali Murtada, the Master of this world and of the hereafter. You must do it with a feeling of perfect love, with sincere intention, smilingly and rejoicing that the tithe paid (submitted) by you has reached the luminous presence of your Mawla and has been accepted. Then offer thanks (because this proves) that your earnings were lawful to you, as the tithe has reached the Mawla, and was accepted. Then the remaining parts are lawful to you, and you will see many benefits from this, both in this world and the hereafter." (pp.54-55) |
Part 2: Teaching of Pir Hasan Kabirdin
In the following verse from Moti Venti, Pir Hasan Kabirdin teaches us to supplicate to Mowla and implore him to overlook our shortcomings and keep us on the Right path:
Eji | châli châli hu(n) thâki rahi sâmi havê nahi(n) rê chalâya avgu(n) amârâ sâmi tamê ma juo sâmi havê nahi(n) rê rahêvâya mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ abarâ sharan tamâri |
|
0 Lord, | I have been weary of wandering around and I cannot go any further. Overlook my shortcomings, O Lord, for I cannot subsist without you. Have mercy on me, my Lord. I am helpless and dependent on you. |
