Part 1: Recitation of Anant Akhado

On this first day of the project, let us read or recite the first 12 verses of Anant Akhado. A sample verse and its literal transliteration for today's recitation is presented below:

Āshāji jugpati jugnāth Sri Islām Shāh
ham man tērē umāyoji
kāyam svāmi ha(n)sājinā rājā
ja(m)pudipmē shāh āvo...

hari anatējo svāmi shāh
anatē jo a(n)t tuhi jānē ji

eknē mārē shāh eknē tārē
eknē hari var ālē

Oh Lord Shri Islam Shah, the Lord and the Master of the age
My mind (and heart) supplicates to you
You are the eternal Lord and the King of the soul
Come to the Indian subcontinent (our home, hearts)

Haree You are eternal and unlimited, Haree You are the
Lord of unlimited souls or eternity
You are the only Knower of the limits of the unlimited

To one He punishes, to the other He liberates
And He brings another under the protection of the Lord
(makes him/her a better momin or true believer)
