| Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim | In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful | |
| Sabbihisma Rabbikal-'A-laa; | (87:1) | Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High, |
| Allazii khalaqa fasawwa; | (87:2) | Who createth, then disposeth; |
| Waallazii qaddara fahadaa; | (87:3) | Who measureth, then guideth; |
| Waallazii 'akhrajal-mar-'aa, | (87:4) | Who bringeth forth the pasturage, |
| Fa-ja-'alahuu gusaaa-an 'ahwaa. | (87:5) | Then turneth it to russet stubble. |
| Sanuqri-uka falaa tansaaa, | (87:6) | We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget |
| 'Illaa maa shaaa-'allahu: 'inna-Huu ya'-lamul-jahra wa maa yakhfaa. | (87:7) | Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; |
| Wa nuyassiruka lil-Yusra. | (87:8) | And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease. |
| Fa-zakkir 'in-nafa-'atiz-zikra. | (87:9) | Therefore remind (men), for of use is the reminder. |
| Sa-yazzakkaru many-yakhshaa: | (87:10) | He will heed who feareth, |
| Wa yatajanna-buhal-'ash-qaa, | (87:11) | But the most hapless will flout it, |
| 'Allazii yaslan-Naaral-kubraa, | (87:12) | He who will be flung to the great Fire |
| Summa laa yamuutu fiiha wa laa yahya. | (87:13) | herein he will neither die nor live. |
| Qad 'aflaha man-tazakkaa. | (87:14) | He is successful who groweth, |
| Wa zakarasma Rabbihii fasallaa. | (87:15) | And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth, |
| Bal tu'-siruunal-hayaatad-dunyaa; | (87:16) | But ye prefer the life of the world |
| Wal-'Aakhiratu khayrunw-wa 'abqaa. | (87:17) | Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. |
| 'Inna haazaa lafis-Suhufil-'uulaa -- | (87:18) | Lo! This is in the former scrolls. |
| Suhufi 'Ibrahiima wa Muusaa. | (87:19) | The Books of Abraham and Moses. |
