Yusufali: | The (Day) of Noise and Clamour: |
Pickthall: | The Calamity! |

Yusufali: | What is the (Day) of Noise and Clamour? |

101.003 | |
Yusufali: | And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is? |
Pickthall: | Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! |

Yusufali: | (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about, |
Pickthall: | A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths |
101.005 | |
Yusufali: | And the mountains will be like carded wool. |
Pickthall: | And the mountains will become as carded wool. |

Yusufali: | Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, |
Pickthall: | Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works), |

Yusufali: | Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. |
Pickthall: | He will live a pleasant life. |

Yusufali: | But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,- |

Yusufali: | Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. |
Pickthall: | A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, |

Yusufali: | And what will explain to thee what this is? |
Pickthall: | Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! - |

Yusufali: | (It is) a Fire Blazing fiercely! |
Pickthall: | Raging Fire. |
Let us pray (Sura 20, Ayat 114) 'Ya Rabbi Zidni Ilma!' ('O Lord! Increase me in knowledge.') and seek spiritual help (ta'yid) to understand our great faith.
