| Yusufali: | (God) Most Gracious! |
| Pickthall: | The Beneficent |
| 055.002 | |
| Yusufali: | It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. |
| Pickthall: | Hath made known the Qur'an. |
| 055.003 | |
| Yusufali: | He has created man: |
| Pickthall: | He hath created man. |
| 055.004 | |
| Yusufali: | He has taught him speech (and intelligence). |
| Pickthall: | He hath taught him utterance. |
| 055.005 | |
| Yusufali: | The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; |
| Pickthall: | The sun and the moon are made punctual. |

| Yusufali: | And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) bow in adoration. |
| Pickthall: | The stars and the trees adore. |

| Yusufali: | And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), |
| Pickthall: | And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, |
| 055.008 | |
| Yusufali: | In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. |
| Pickthall: | That ye exceed not the measure, |
| 055.009 | |
| Yusufali: | So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. |
| Pickthall: | But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. |

| Yusufali: | It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: |
| Pickthall: | And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, |
| 055.011 | |
| Yusufali: | Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); |
| Pickthall: | Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, |
| 055.012 | |
| Yusufali: | Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. |
| Pickthall: | Husked grain and scented herb. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, |
| Pickthall: | He created man of clay like the potter's, |
| 055.015 | |
| Yusufali: | And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: |
| Pickthall: | And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.017 | |
| Yusufali: | (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: |
| Pickthall: | Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: |
| Pickthall: | He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. |

| Yusufali: | Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: |
| Pickthall: | There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). |
| 055.021 | |
| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | Out of them come Pearls and Coral: |
| Pickthall: | There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. |
| 055.023 | |
| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.024 | |
| Yusufali: | And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: |
| Pickthall: | His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.026 | |
| Yusufali: | All that is on earth will perish: |
| Pickthall: | Everyone that is thereon will pass away; |
| 055.027 | |
| Yusufali: | But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. |
| Pickthall: | There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory. |
| 055.028 | |
| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)! |
| Pickthall: | All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power. |
| 055.030 | |
| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.031 | |
| Yusufali: | Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds! |
| Pickthall: | We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn). |
| 055.032 | |
| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.033 | |
| Yusufali: | O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! |
| Pickthall: | O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have: |
| Pickthall: | There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment: |
| Pickthall: | And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide - |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? - |

| Yusufali: | On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin. |
| Pickthall: | On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |
| 055.041 | |
| Yusufali: | (For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. |
| Pickthall: | The guilty will be known by their marks, and will be taken by the forelocks and the feet. |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |
| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | This is the Hell which the Sinners deny: |

| Yusufali: | In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round! |

| Pickthall: | But for him who feareth the standing before his Lord there are two gardens. |

| Pickthall: | Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);- |

| Yusufali: | They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach). |

| Yusufali: | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? |

| Yusufali: | In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- |
| Pickthall: | Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them. |

| Yusufali: | Like unto Rubies and coral. |
| Pickthall: | (In beauty) like the jacynth and the coral-stone. |

| Yusufali: | Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good? |

| Yusufali: | In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance: |

| Yusufali: | In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: |
| Pickthall: | Wherein is fruit, the date-palm and pomegranate. |

| Yusufali: | Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. |

Let us pray (Sura 20, Ayat 114) 'Ya Rabbi Zidni Ilma!' ('O Lord! Increase me in knowledge.') and seek spiritual help (ta'yid) to understand our great faith.
